Hot Springs Arkansas

Hot Springs National Park, established in 1921 in the Ouachita Mountains of central Arkansas, is the smallest and one of the oldest protected areas in the national park family — a unique urban park built around 47 naturally occurring thermal springs that have flowed from the earth at a constant 143°F for thousands of years. The elegant Bathhouse Row, a collection of eight grand early 20th-century bathhouses lining Central Avenue, reflects the park’s golden era as a celebrated health resort and social destination. Today, restored bathhouses offer spa experiences, galleries, and a brewery, blending history, wellness, and Americana in one remarkable place.

U.S. national parks are frequently referred to as America’s Best Idea. Other common nicknames highlighting their value include National Treasures, Jewels in the Crown and collectively as the Natural Heritage or Crown Jewels of the nation.
